Monaco
The Principality of Monaco is an independant state that borders France on the Mediterranean coast. Lying on a narrow coastal strip, Monaco sometimes rises vertically upwards with its highest point at 206 feet. During the International Year of Mountains (2002), Monaco hosted the World Mountains Forum which provided an opportunity for political and business leaders from across the world to share their experiences and assess the efficiency of development policies in mountain regions.
